Dimensions Of Wellness
Wellness is a broad and multidimensional concept that encompasses more than simply physical health. Physical, intellectual, emotional, environmental, social wellbeing are among the five dimensions.
- Physical Wellness : Physical wellness improves physical fitness, which improves a person’s ability to prevent illness and disease. Exercise promotes mental and physical well-being. Increased physical activity in everyday life, such as walking, cycling, walking the dog, taking the stairs, and trekking, can help you avoid a sedentary lifestyle. Physical wellbeing is promoted by proper nutrition, eating a balanced diet, drinking enough water (eight glasses per day), and having enough sleep.
- Intellectual : Mental activity and involvement, such as learning, problem-solving, and creativity, enhance intellectual wellness and a positive outlook. People who learn new things and push their minds are less likely to suffer from mental illnesses.
- Emotional wellness : Emotional wellbeing refers to a person’s ability to cope with difficult conditions. Emotional wellbeing is defined as a person who is conscious of their own feelings and has empathy for the feelings of others.
- Environmental: Being aware of our part in enhancing rather than degrading our natural environment, as well as maintaining and living in a safe physical environment, improves wellness.
- Social : Social circles and support networks are critical to a person’s general well-being. A person’s happiness and health are enhanced by relating, participating, and contributing to a community, developing excellent interpersonal ties, and preserving long-term relationships with family and friends.
